Chapter 1 What Is The Wilderness?

When I first believed in Jesus Christ, being baptized for my sins, and receiving His Holy Spirit, my heart, soul, mind and whole being was filled to overflowing with joy, peace, and heartfelt anticipation of all the gospel promises of prosperity and healing and deliverance that I had been hearing from the mouths of every preacher and teacher. But as I myself began getting into the scriptures, I began to quickly see that what I had received was not what the preachers had said at all, but what I had received was a person, and receiving that person, Jesus Christ, was receiving His life, His sorrows, His persecutions, His hatreds, His rejections, His losses, His denials, His sufferings, and His cross. I do not know over the years if in a desperation of my own heart and mind I have held onto Jesus, or if He would have held on to me no matter where my own feet had caused me to run. When I received Jesus Christ as my Saviour and LORD, to me it was like getting thrown out of the boat into churning waters and I was swimming for my very life, and if I did not swim, I would drown.

I suddenly became a stranger in my own house, unwanted, unloved, and alone. This happened instantly. The quarrels began. The fighting began. The persecutions began. And the love that was there turned to hatred and it came from every side, from husband, from son, from mother and father, and brothers, and friends? They slowly drifted all away from me as though I had become leprous.

The joy of conversion was immediately destroyed, not by untruth, but by the truth. That was over thirty years ago, and to this day, my life has been a life of one in the wildernesses of this world, for as one walks in Christ Jesus and in His life, and in His sufferings, they become born again from above, and they are separated out from all the things of this world, barring none.

There are those that compromise to have a life in this world, and what they compromise is the truth. There are those who forsake their own salvation's to have a life in this world, and they return to perdition, after having clean escaped it. Is there a wilderness for all Christians? Or is the wilderness just for the elect, the anointed, the chosen, and the called?

Chapter 2 Armed For War!

The warfare for me after I had received Jesus Christ was so intense, I knew I had been touched by the supernatural. I knew something real had hold of me and I was held by something unseen, a power and force that had entered into my very body. I was changed, in an instant. And this change brought another force into my life, a force so powerful that I knew I was in a war, a battle, and a fierce confrontation with the unseen powers of this world. I had not noticed them before, nor been so acutely aware of them before, but after meeting Jesus Christ, after receiving Jesus Christ into my very body, I also ran headlong into the power and the force that crucified Him and nailed Him to the cross.

Not only was I immediately aware of the weaknesses and frailties of my own flesh, but I became aware of all of the temptations and confrontations that satan had brought into my life up to the time of conversion, that I had clean escaped from. Many times I had escaped temptation by the grace of God. And many more times I had entered even through the door of temptation and then turned and walked away from sin. By the grace of God, I was kept from sin even before I knew the One who was keeping me unto salvation.

I get concerned when I see Christians that are so careless concerning righteousness, and I wonder if God is saving them at all, seeing as they care little about having a garment of white raiment. And everyone preaches and teaches about a different Jesus, and one hardly knows who to believe and what to believe, even concerning righteous doctrine. For there are those who make rules and regulations and denials the way of salvation, voiding the blood of Jesus and the sanctification of the Spirit. It is as though Christians are all running around in the darkness bumping into one another. For we are in that time Jesus spoke about when He said that prophet shall rise up against prophet, and kingdom against kingdom. He did not say there would be a warfare between false prophets and true prophets, but prophets against prophets. One of the final ending signs preceding the appearing of Jesus Christ in the world, is this great warfare and great upheaval in the body of Christ, believers warring each other over doctrine, and over following prophets and prophecy.

So the warfare bubbles over into the Christian Body of Christ, all over the world, whereas before the enemies of the truth were not in Christ, but were unsaved, and lost, but now, the enemies of the truth are in His own house and in His very own body. We must be armed for war! And how are we to be armed?

Chapter 3 The Cloak Of Righteousness

Jesus said . . . . . .Matt. 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Now, the Holy Spirit, and God the Father have their eyes upon those that hunger and thirst after righteousness. They shall seek them out, and they shall fill them with righteousness and salvation. It was the mantle of righteousness that raised Jesus Christ from the dead. That is the first weapon of war against death and evil and the kingdom of darkness, righteousness. Rom. 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; 4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.

Jesus said, Matt. 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

(And what is this knowing that Jesus spoke about, saying to those who worked the gifts of the Holy Spirit, preaching, teaching, doing the works of the Kingdom?)

24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

These wolves of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ do all things in the name of Jesus Christ, yet are their doctrines not of Jesus Christ. They do not build their ministries on the sayings and doctrines of Jesus Christ. They search the scriptures to find doctrines compatible with their own beliefs and faiths, and search the scriptures especially in the old testament to find doctrines on tithes and offerings of the which Jesus said, All who came before Him were thieves and robbers! And Jesus said, these wolves stand right at the entrance of the Kingdom of God, leading seekers of life into that broad pathway of destruction, and not into the narrrow pathway of life.

For Jesus said, I am the way. I am the truth. I am the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me. When we receive Jesus Christ, we receive His life. We not only receive His life, but we receive His way, and His truth. You will not reap life from wolves. You will reap death and judgment. You will not reap righteousness from wolves. You will reap death and judgment. For these wolves know nothing of the wilderness, nothing of denials, and nothing of the righteousness of the Spirit of the Living God. These are corrupted trees bowing down to the god of mammon, the god of this world.

In Ezekiel we read . . . .Ezek. 22:23 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 24 Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation. 25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof. 26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. 27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain. 28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the LORD GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken. 29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully. 30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but found none. 31 Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.

Wolves will bring the wraths of God upon any nation. Wolves will cause souls to perish and nature’s courses of wrath to be turned upon those nations whose borders shelter and inhabit wolves of the Kingdom. Jesus said, Beware of these wolves! These wolves first of all, despise righteousness, despise the hard, strait way, despise denials, and despise the sayings of Jesus Christ. They build their doctrines and ministries from the scriptures, else they could not deceive those that have little or no knowledge of the Spirit or the Word. These search and travail with the scriptures to present God said in feigned truths that coins will flow into their coffers and clothe them in splendour and wealth, promising prosperity to all. It is written. 2nd Tim. 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Men who resist the truth have corrupted minds, and have become reprobates from the truth.

Again is it written. 1st Tim. 6:3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; 4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings. 5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Those that will be rich, that have their hearts set on the things of this world, and the prosperities of this world, are following after temptations and the lusts and passions of the flesh. And this golden angel of promise that desires to give a man all things, has it in his power to do so.

And again written. 2nd Pet. 2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet. 17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest: to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. 18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

The doctrine of Jesus Christ is a doctrine according to godliness, not prosperity; holiness, not wealth; and temperance, not extravagance. Those that turn from the doctrine of Jesus Christ turn to fables of their own imaginations and allusions of their own minds and divinations of their own spirits. Those that turn their wills to prosperity in this life deny the Lord Jesus Christ and His blood that was shed for their salvations. These tempt God to wrath. Matt. 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

The god of mammon, the prosperities of this world, the god of gold, have no power of salvation, they having only the power of damnation. Those that are deceived by wolves in sheep’s clothing are set in the pathway of God’s wrath and destruction.
