Most believers are not believers at all, but are of the flesh yet, of the world yet, living their lives in the world and being of it, not walking in the will of GOD at all. And the scriptures say. . . . . .James 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, 16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body: what doth it profit? 17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. 19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. 20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect. 23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only. 25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Obedience is therefore, wrought by faith, and faith without obedience, is a faith that has perished and the soul as well. For faith alone cannot save, apart from obedience to the doctrines of CHRIST as well as obedience to the life of CHRIST. For He said, I am the life. So we must find that life in CHRIST that is ours to find.

And along about here in this treatise, will come those who deny works as a work of faith, and a work of salvation, and they make null and void the scripture that says, Work out your salvation with fear and trembling, and they encumber and confuse souls with the scriptures that say. . . . . . . . . Eph. 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Now, GOD has fore-ordained that faith is evidenced by works, and without works, faith becomes a lie, and is as though it never was, faith being the evidence of things not seen, in the fact that those things that are not seen, shall be seen, and the evidence of works follow the profession of faith. Phil. 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is GOD which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

As written, For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast, testifies to us that if we believe, we by that believing can go to GOD to be forgiven our sins and trespasses, and know beforehand that if we repent, we shall also be forgiven, without works in our hands to offer, without atonements in our hands to offer, without tithes in our hands to offer, without anything in our hands to offer, simply, because by grace we can receive forgiveness, and receive the Holy Spirit of promise that works in us to cleanse us, purify us, sanctify us, and preserve us unto eternal life, and lead us by His will through our salvations and works in this world, and become created in the image of His own dear Son JESUS CHRIST. And if we have failed to righteously repent, the mercy of GOD will speak to us to do what we failed to see to do, such as restore ourselves to a brother, or to repent to a sister, or to undo a fault that must be undone, for repentance toward GOD must first be worked unto men that GOD might grant also His grace toward us, and His unending mercy as we make right with our fellowman our transgressions toward him. For if we love not our brothers whom we see, how can we say to GOD we love Him, Him whom we cannot see? Therefore, if we are to receive mercy, we must first repent to those we have sinned against, that we might also be forgiven our trespasses by GOD. So we with fear and trembling must work out our salvations, and must repent to our brothers and sisters that we have sinned against, and repent to all men whom we have sinned against, and be restored there, before our GOD will receive us and forgive us our transgressions.

Matt. 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

Souls that came to JESUS asking Him what must they do to inherit eternal life, heard Him reply, Go do this, and then come and follow Me. Go be restored there and then, come and follow Me. Go and sell all that you have, and then come and follow Me. Go and give all you own to the poor, and then come and follow Me. JESUS often said, this one thing you lack. Go and do this, and then, come and follow Me. For John the Baptist said, Matt. 3:5 Then went out to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the region round about Jordan, 6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their sins. 7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? 8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance.

The WORD of GOD calls those who accept grace only without works, nothing but vipers, snakes, serpents, sons of the devil.

Now, is a man forgiven his trespasses and sins without works or not? Do works therefore, also save a soul, or not? So our cry to our LORD JESUS CHRIST is daily, What must I do to be saved? For being saved means, being cleansed of our sins, being saved from our sins, being washed from our sins, being transformed from bad to good, and from evil to righteousness, and from hatred to love, and being conformed and formed into the image of CHRIST JESUS. So every day, we ask our LORD JESUS CHRIST, what must I do, this day, to be saved? For today is the day of salvation, and every day the day of salvation. Faith without works, is dead, as written, dead!

JESUS said, Luke 13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. 28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. 29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God. 30 And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

When He is risen up, He shall shut the door, and many shall say to Him, Lord, Lord, open unto us! And he shall answer and say unto them, I know you not whence ye are. And again does He say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are! These were not in His Kingdom, doing His works, proclaiming His gospel, were not in His Father’s will. They are in the world, eating and drinking, living their lives in the world, for JESUS said, you were not where you were supposed to be, not doing those things you were supposed to be doing, not abiding in the purpose and will of my Father. You retained your own life. And I told you, to gain your life you must lose your life, give your life, and forfeit your life. You cannot retain your life and not lose it in the end. You cannot retain your life and then gain it. You must give the life to gain it. You must do my Father’s will to gain your life. You must work out your salvation, work it out, by works. You must work it out. You must find my Father’s will for your life. It is strait. It is narrow, and few find it. And when they do find it, fewer yet enter into it, being rebellious, being lovers of the flesh, being lovers of life, and being lovers of this world.

And the will of GOD is different for every child of GOD. Whereas righteousness is the same will and purpose and burden upon all flesh to enter into salvation and the Kingdom of GOD, in the Kingdom of GOD are the purposes of GOD worked out in each believer’s life, and sought out, and found out. For JESUS said, Matt. 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. And again it is written. Luke 11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. 11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? And again written, Luke 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. 32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

It is GOD’s pleasure to lead and guide His children into His Kingdom and into His will. First of all, one must become a Child of GOD before he can ask for the purposes, and the life, and the will of GOD. He must first become a child in the Kingdom of GOD, and then seek GOD’s will. Righteousness is by obedience, but the will of GOD is found by seeking after it, and striving to know it, and then willing to do what is necessary to enter into His perfect will. It is here when it becomes straight, and hard, and narrow, and few will enter into GOD’s will, and fewer yet will abide in His will to the end.

We ask and seek and desire to know GOD’s perfect will for our lives. . . . .and He shall show it, and shall lead into it, and shall sustain it, and shall work it out in us and through us. Yet is it a continual daily leading and guiding and searching out to know, and to learn, and to walk in it. And sometimes as we are knocking, and seeking, and finding, and being shown His perfect will for us, we do not do it, and do not accept it, and will not do it, or not do whatever is given to us by His Holy Spirit to do, not forfeit something He has said to forfeit, not change something He has said to change, not go here or go there as He has said to do. We keep our own wills, and our own discernments, and our own purposes, and even our own understandings, protecting our minds and our hearts from His voice, lest He speak something we do not want to hear, or tell us to do something we do not want to do. We retain our own wills and our own ways, not allowing His Spirit to work in us, not allowing His will to be manifested in our lives. And if we do not do His will, He shall say also to us, I know not whence you are.

Luke 9:62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. So many that say they believe, say also that they did not come for a long time to receive JESUS CHRIST, because they thought He would take everything away, or tell them to change, or tell them to forfeit, or tell them to do things they did not want to do, or tell them how to dress, and what to eat, and where to go, and what even to say or not say, and that He would take control of everything, and so they feared losing their lives in order to gain it. THAT IS NOT FAITH AND TRUST! And then there are those who begin with a lot of faith and trust, and then when the Lordship of CHRIST JESUS is enacted, and the leading and guiding and discipline and pruning and chastening and losing, as written, the losing of the life to gain it begins to become manifested, friends lost, family lost, wealths lost, everything lost, they turn back, and are not worthy, not fit for the Kingdom of GOD, they rather loving their own ways and their own thoughts and their own wills. And JESUS will say to them, I know not whence ye are.

And the scriptures liken our lives and purposes in the Kingdom of GOD, according to the workings of the physical body, that some are eyes, and some are ears, and some are working legs and arms, and some are mouths, and some are financial supports. 1st Cor. 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many. 15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 19 And if they were all one member, where were the body? 20 But now are they many members, yet but one body. 21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary. 23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. 24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: 25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. 26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? 31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. . . . . . . .

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, I am become as a loud bang or an annoying cymbal. . .and though I have all knowledge and know everything and have all faith, and have no love, I am nothing . . . .even if I give my body to be burned in sacrifice and have no love, it profits me nothing . . . .I am nothing, without love.

1st Cor. 14:1 Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy. . . . .

We are saved through prophecy. . .and no soul is saved except he believe the prophecy that says, For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but be given everlasting life. There is no greater spiritual gift given, than prophecy. So we ask, seek and knock, and thirst and hunger for the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Righteousness works through obedience to the Holy Spirit of Righteousness, and obedience to the scriptures, but the receiving of the gifts of the Spirit are by the will of GOD, who gives every believer, according to His purposes, those gifts according to the calling given, and the work given in the Kingdom of GOD, and according to talent, and to ability, and strength, and willingness.

How can GOD give an unwilling believer a responsibility in the Kingdom of GOD that he do it? and faithfully do it? and without complaint do it? and without turning back do it? and without cowardice do it? and without reward do it? and with loss of everything do it? And who cares about doing the will of GOD, anyway, when all flesh seeks for GOD to do for them and not what they can do for GOD?

Hebrews 13:20 Now the GOD of peace,
that brought again from the dead
our Lord JESUS, that great shepherd
of the sheep, through the blood of the
everlasting covenant. 21 Make you
perfect in every good work to do
his will, working in you that which
is wellpleasing in his sight,
through JESUS CHRIST; to whom
be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
