Chapter 1 The Birth Of Confusion

Confusion births when there are several different answers or conclusions to the same question. For where there may be many roads to a city, the city does not differ from itself in that it is true, and is a reality, and is distinguishable by its own location and place and inhabitants from other cities. There are many roads into the city, and entrances to a city by traveling down its rivers, or flying into its airports, but there is but the one city, of that name, and that exact location. Its location and name erases any confusion. It is identified and measured and placed in a particular position on the map and there is no confusion as to its location, or its name. And its roadways are also located, measured, named, and placed on the map in their proper places. And all these roadways and rivers and avenues into the City, all lead to the City. They are visible, identifiable, accessible, and true, but they in and of their own selves are not the City but lead to the City. The City is the prize to seek after.

Likewise, spiritual and scriptural truth is identifiable with the searching for a City. There are many ways to get to a City, but only one certain City. And it depends upon where one would be coming from as to how they would venture to travel there. Therefore, there is only one truth, although there may be many avenues we travel down to get to that truth. Now, if the City is not in existence, it does not matter how many roads we travel down or how many doctrines we receive and believe, or how many directions well meaning people have told us to go, if the City is not there at all, we shall never get to an imagined City or truth. For it is not the truth and is only a lie, and shall never be, no matter how hard we want to believe it or wish it were so. It just ain’t so, is the saying.

Consider Israel, the Jewish nation. No matter how hard they believe in the law, no matter how many goats and lambs they sacrifice to receive forgiveness of their sins, it just ain’t so, is the saying. And Jesus Christ entered into the world claiming Himself to be the way, the truth, and the life, saying, No man cometh to the Father but by me. It does not matter how many disbelieve this truth, it is so, is the saying.

Jn. 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because his deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Acts 1:1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: 3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: 4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which saith he, ye have heard of me. 5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. 6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. 9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Now, it is this same Jesus that prophesied from heaven John’s Revelation, in which we find the scriptures that speak to the world of the thousand year reign of Christ. Rev. 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

For Jesus says through His servant John, in the beginning of Rev. 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: 2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. 4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; 5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood. 6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

This thousand year reign of Christ is during the very same thousand years that satan is imprisoned. Rev. 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years. 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. . . . . . .7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

When satan is loosed, he shall go forth all over the earth, opposing all Christians, compassing all Christians, all saints, all over the breadth or surface of the whole earth, as well the City of God, New Jerusalem, from which the river of life flows forth to the world, the City from which the Tree of Life sends forth her leaves for the healing of the nations. And the wicked are as the sands of the sea, and wickedness and wicked men rule and abound in every nation and tongue and people of the world.

Now, during this thousand years, these things are occurring.

Rev. 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

And something else was occurring in this same thousand year reign of the gospel.

What is this reigning? What is this living? What is this overcoming? We find it in Romans.

Rom. 5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. . . . .21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

It is a reigning over sin, over the powers of darkness, the abundant life, a life of righteousness that shows the grace that is to come at death, eternal life. Righteousness is that reigning. Righteousness is that ruling.

Jesus speaks of this first resurrection in the gospel of John. John 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead, shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. And then Jesus speaks of yet another and final resurrection when all the dead are raised. 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice. 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Understand these things. It is so. The rest of the dead did not live until after this thousand year reigning of the gospel of Jesus Christ in the world, the gospel being preached in all the world. The rest of the holy and the wicked did not live until after this great outpouring of the Spirit of God in which kings and priests of the Kingdom of God in power appeared in the earth, reaping the harvest of souls, and sealing the harvest, both the wicked and the holy, readying the world for its final hours as they now are. For there comes a time when the earth has been reaped, and all living souls judged, and sealed, those that are saved sealed by the blood of the Lamb, gathered together in His barns, and those that are damned, tied into bundles to be burned.
