In John 13:34, 35 we read. A new commandment I give unto you. That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

And again in John 15:12-14. This is my commandment, that ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

And again yet. John 15:17,18 These things I command you, that ye love one another. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

Now a woman gives up her life for her husband, and the husband the wife, and the husband and the wife both, for their children, laying down their lives to each other and to their children. Men give their lives for many loves. Some love their works. Some love their lands. Some love their achievements. Some love their possessions. They give their lives for their loves.

So JESUS said, love one another as I have loved you and lay down your lives unto one another. The scriptures say, we ought to lay down our lives unto the brethren. We are now of the JESUS family. We have been adopted by JESUS. JESUS said, This is a new commandment I give you. Love one another as I have loved you. Love not as the traditions of the world or traditions of friends and family. But love one another as I have loved you, is what JESUS commanded. And just what is this love that JESUS is speaking about, this as I have loved you, love? What is this new commandment? It is to leave mother, brother, father, sister, friends, family, children, husband, wife, and forfeit these for the Kingdom of GOD’s sake and to lay down our lives to the brethren. This is the love JESUS is speaking about, a new commandment. This new commandment will bring the hatred of men and the betrayal of friends.

When the brethren and family of JESUS came to where He was ministering to His disciples, sending someone to tell JESUS his family was outside wishing to speak with Him, His reply was: Matt. 12:48-50 But He answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And He stretched forth His hand toward His disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. JESUS is saying here, it does not matter if a man calls himself a brother, or a sister, or brethren, or even names the name of brethren, if he does not do the will of the Father, he is not brethren. Even if a man wears the clothing of a sheep and does not do the will of the Father, he is not a brethren. JESUS said, Lay your life down to the brethren as I have laid my life down unto you, and the brethren are they who do the will of the Father which is in heaven.

When we are born again and become new creations in CHRIST JESUS, our enemies as JESUS said, are those of our own households. Suddenly to them, they feel we think we are better then they are, when it is the truth that we have come to realize how unwashed we are, and how unclean, and how unsaved that we are. Our families feel we are judging them and sitting over them as some high and mighty judge and think ourselves so great and they so nothing. And then when they reject us and persecute us and we love the brethren and abide with the brethren, and are now of a whole new family of the household of faith, believers in JESUS CHRIST, they cry, CULT! CULT! Saying, they are telling you to hate us. They are taking you away from us. They are using you. They are brainwashing you. They are controlling your mind.

JESUS says in Matt. 10:34-37 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.

The love wherewith that JESUS loved us, and that we are commanded also to love with, the new commandment of loving the brethren, leads us away from our mothers, and fathers, and brothers, and sisters, and children, and lands, and houses, and we become a whole new creation, with a whole new family, and the love wherewith that JESUS loved us with is that love that forsakes all that we have, and are, and ever hope for ourselves to be, forfeiting up all our own dreams and life and desires of life, and forfeiting them into the vine, into the gospel, and into the Kingdom, becoming a servant unto the world, and entering into an abiding Kingdom. JESUS said, I am the vine. Abide in the vine that ye might bear much fruit. For without Me, JESUS said, ye can do nothing. As I abide in the Father, abide in Me, and ye shall bear fruit. And those that bear fruit, JESUS said, my Father prunes, that they might bear more fruit. The commandment is, abide on the vine. Abide with the brethren. Abide in the family. Dwell in the family, for without abiding with the vine, ye are nothing and can do nothing.

Our earthly families that we love, require a deep loyalty, and we listen to them, and are guided by them, and they lord it over us and we lord it over them, and our lives are entwined and vined in and around and with an earthly family, born of this world with all their lives and activities surrounded and standing on the things of this world. The Kingdom of GOD is not of this world, and so a warfare begins. We make all kinds of deals and concessions and compromises to get along with and abide in our earthly families that are so torn with the strifes and cares of this world. But when JESUS comes into our lives, and saves us, and suddenly our love, our heart, our mind, our soul, all that we are and ever hope to be, being now given into His Kingdom to serve in His Kingdom on earth, we suddenly worship Him with our whole heart, mind and soul, and serve Him with every thought and breath, and this upsets this earthly family and causes great strifes and divisions as these two worlds collide. We are now no longer under our earthly family’s dominion and authority and this brings into our lives great upheavals and great difficulties, and great tearings occur.

They feel we do not love them anymore. We are what makes them happy and when we are taken for the gospel, they want us back. They now feel we do not love them anymore, but now have other friends that have no rights to our lives. They now lose us to the LORD and they hate that, and hate even our friends, and hate the LORD as well for the taking of us from them. If we have young children, our children of course follow us, and the grandparents now are crying again, CULT! You are in a cult! They are teaching you to hate us and to take our grandchildren away from us. Friends, there is a very definite way to determine whether or not you, or anyone you know, is in a cult. Simply turn to the words of JESUS, for His words warn us of blasphemy, of calling any man or group of believers or worshippers, satanical or of a cult, saying anyone that blasphemes the Holy Spirit shall not be forgiven in this life or the next. So heed the warnings of His mouth concerning the discerning of spirits. In Matt. 5:14,15 we read. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Cults do not put their doctrines and truths on a candlestick. They do not openly issue their faiths in booklets and books. They hide away. They hide their doctrines and their groups and hide everything they believe and do, behind closed doors and behind secrecies. Cults abide in darkness. They do not come to the light lest their doctrines and truths and deeds get reproved, nor do they come to the light to test and prove and try their doctrines to see whether they be of GOD or not. Be warned of judging any believing group of believers in JESUS as cults lest you sin terribly in smiting brethren of the true vine of faith in CHRIST, that are simply obeying His WORDS of laying down their lives to the brethren and abiding on the vine. The true test of a cult is secrecy. The true test of a cult is binding their believers and holding them in a captivity, a physical captivity. True believers in CHRIST are not bound, but are free, and are followers, free to come and go and go in and out and find pasture.

Through fear does a man depart from evil. Through fear of death does a man turn to repentance and faith in JESUS CHRIST. And the Word of GOD is our LORD and our Master and so to say we are not mastered now by CHRIST or by the prophets or by the scriptures is also not a true test of whether a group is a cult or not, for we are commanded to be followers, so we will be following someone, some faith, and worshipping somewhere. Some do more than worship on Sunday, and Wednesday, and attend services. Some actually abide. Some abide in the house of GOD. Some brethren abide in the vine, in the house of GOD, in and with brethren. Because abiding brethren abide and lay down their lives unto one another in a testimony in the earth and a work in the earth does not constitute a cult. They all the more walk the way JESUS walked, and live the way JESUS lived, and abide in the Father and the WORD the way JESUS did, and they shall be called of Beelzebub, just the way JESUS was. They called JESUS and His followers a cult, because they left all and abided together. Therefore, because someone is praised or followed or given honour does not signify a cult.

For we are commanded to give honour to our pastors, and teachers, and ministers of the WORD of GOD. In truth, the scriptures command us to obey those who have the rule over us in the WORD of GOD.

And because of our LORD’s new commandment to love one another as he has loved us, we find that we can easily be condemned and be called a cult, simply by our separation from family, and from the world, to do the will of the Father, as He was separated out, saying I sanctify my own self for your sake. I set myself apart for your sake. So when our LORD calls us to love one another as He loved us, we also are set apart, and sanctified to a work, a calling, and are lit, standing upon a candlestick for the world to see. We do not hide away nor hide in secrecy our abiding but openly labour in the harvest fields of the world that the light might be seen.

We could easily persecute members of His body because they love one another, care for one another, abide together in groups, worship together in groups, and in this day and age when it is impossible for many to even have food to eat or a place to live, many believers are banding together and abiding together in fellowships under the same roof, and in the same house, and in buildings of co-habitations, families, brethren, many families, dwelling together and sharing the hardships of life and the abundance some have and others do not have, caring for the afflicted, caring for the less fortunate. Yes, believers lose their jobs. Yes, believers lose their farms. Yes, believers get divorced. Yes, believers have fatherless and motherless children to care for. Yes, believers are elderly and need cared for. Yes, believers are sick and afflicted and yes, believers are having unbearable hardships in this hour of satan’s wrath against the gospel of JESUS CHRIST. Therefore are we commanded to abide on the vine, and to love one another as JESUS loved us and gave His life for us, having forsaken all things for our sakes.

Yes, I know there are kings and priests in the Kingdom of GOD that sit in high places in the earth, and are clothed in fine apparel, and gold apparel, and lace, and garments of satin and silk, and are driving grand cars, and have rings on their fingers, and many diamonds, and watches, and ear-rings down to the shoulders, and poofed wigs, and things, and rings and baubles, and that are filled with all manners of the goods of this world, but perhaps, these are they also that the LORD shall say, go to the left, for when I was hungry, you fed me not. When I was thirsty, you gave me nothing to drink. When I was in prison, you visited me not. When I was without shelter, you housed me not. When I was without clothing, you clothed me not. When I was sick, you visited me not. JESUS is not speaking of the sinners, of the wicked, but of His children. And those of the Spirit, those of the gifts of the Spirit, those that prophesied, and preached, and ministered, and cast devils, and healed the sick, are they to whom the LORD says, go to the place prepared for the devil and His angels. These did not love the brethren. They loved the world and the things of this world. They have this world’s goods and have shut up their bowels of compassion toward the children of GOD.

1st John 3:23 And this is His commandment, that we should believe on the name of his Son JESUS CHRIST, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1st John 4:11 Beloved, if GOD so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 1st John 4:2l And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth GOD love his brother also. 1st John 5:1,2 Whosoever believeth that JESUS is the CHRIST is born of GOD: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. By this we know that we love the children of GOD, when we love GOD, and keep His commandments. And the new commandment is, love one another as I have loved you.

When the LORD calls us, or commands us to do something, or leads us here, or there, or says do this or that, or do not do this or that, he requires perfect obedience to His voice. He perfectly obeyed His Father. He requires us to perfectly obey His Father as well. Jesus told the parable about the great supper, and bade many. They all gave excuse and did not nor would come. One had just bought some property. Another had just purchased some oxen. Another even said, I have just gotten married. I cannot come. So JESUS said, none of them were worthy of the man’s great supper.

And we read in Luke 14:25-27 And there went great multitudes with him: (JESUS) and he turned, and said unto them, If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Nothing can take second place to CHRIST. Nothing! He will take second place to nothing! He will take second place to none!

JESUS commands our love for Him to be just as His love was for His Father. JESUS requires our obedience to Him to be just as His obedience was to His Father. Our love for JESUS CHRIST and His Father must be so far above and so high above any earthly love, even for our own self, that we will be perfected by His cross, His obedience, His truth, His life, and His sacrifice, and His love. JESUS did not shed His holy blood on the cross to give us lands, and houses, and diamonds, and gold, and cars, and rings and things, or even a loaf of bread. JESUS did not die for us to have even a loaf of bread or something to eat and drink or wear. The Kingdom of GOD is not in food and drink or in any earthly substance. They have all been here since the beginning of the world, all these things. They did not come in the Kingdom of GOD nor are of the Kingdom of GOD. The Kingdom of GOD is power. The Kingdom of GOD is righteousness. GOD is love. The Kingdom of GOD is love. We love Him because He first loved us. And because He loved us, we are to also love one another, with that same love wherewith He loved us.

When we are young, we do not cry all is vanity. All is vain. We are reaching for the brass ring and every star we can wish upon. Our hearts are filled with all kinds of worldly dreams and hopes and wants. When we are young, this life all lays before us and we are planning everything all the time and with many pursuits do we attack our own lives to get all we can. But when we get old, we see the vanity of all things. We see that we have but the moment we have and nothing is ours except the moment we have. We wonder what is the purpose of it all? What is in my hand? What do I have? What do I have to show for a lifetime? All is vain. All is vanity.

Every man when he comes to that bed of affliction, that sickness unto death, realizes the vanity of life, of everything that this world holds, and that it steals everything away, takes everything back, even his life. Vanity, all vanity. When the angel of death comes, and the vultures of life gather around the bed of death, to gather in the coins and inheritances that are left behind, the dying one looks at the faces gathered and wonders if they love him, even a little. And if they do, what can they now do? for there is no more time. And if they do not, why are they here at all?

And if there is no inheritance to bury the dead, to bury the carcass, what bickering! What quarreling! What sorrow! What pain! Many a family has been torn apart all the days of their lives, by greeds over inheritances, those things left in this world by the dead. What vanity!

A man in his satin lined coffin with his family passing before him, they already counting their coins and how much the coffin cost and what will be left over, lies silent and still. They gather at the foot and around his bed as he departs his flesh and he sees that he did not even leave children of substance with anything in them except the vanities of this world and vain things that profit nothing. They cry because of the fears and pains it brings to their own tormented souls. Death! How ugly! How horrible! Death! Die and get it done with. They were not ready for this, not ready at all, neither the one dying nor the ones remaining.

Yet, . . . . . even as JESUS died upon the cross, eyes of a Father’s love looked down upon Him, and eyes of the brethren’s love looked upward at Him, and eyes even now from the graves look up at Him and eyes all over the world, under the world, and above the world, look at JESUS CHRIST with love. For GOD so loves us, we ought also to love one another.
