Chapter 2 THE OTHER SIDE OF FORGIVENESS

2nd John 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

To pledge . . . . . . . .the other side of forgiveness, being a doctrine, not of CHRIST JESUS, but a doctrine of this world, and the doctrine of the god of mammon. . . . . . . .to pledge, to give, to give to gain, and to give to receive back again, prosperity, wealth, and all things of this world and flesh, is the doctrine of the antichrist, those against the gospel of CHRIST, and the gospel of Christ is His gospel being a life of denial, a life of surrender, a life of forfeiting all things.

Luke 14:12 Then said he (Jesus) also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompense be made thee. 13 But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: 14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just. 15 And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.

Jesus was literally condemning those deeds of the flesh and this world, that would receive a recompense, or a compensation. To receive recompense is not the gospel of JESUS CHRIST, but is another gospel, and from another kingdom, and from another lord.

In the name of JESUS CHRIST are pledges demanded, asked for, and received, with promises given of earthly as well as spiritual gains, and this is not a doctrine of CHRIST, but is another doctrine, and another gospel. JESUS said, He who gains his life shall lose it, and he who loses his life, shall gain it. And the doctrine of gain, the doctrine of pledging to gain those things of this life, is a doctrine of gaining the life, and JESUS said, those who gain this life, shall lose it. And how is it called seed faith? For the scriptures say, Seek ye first the Kingdom of GOD and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. For the seed faith principle of this antichrist doctrine says, sow coins, and you shall reap coins.

The dictionary explains the word, pledge. . . . . . . . .

  1. The condition of being given or held as security for a contract, payment as, a thing held in pledge.
  2. A person or thing given or held as security for the performance of a contract, as guarantee of faith, something pawned; hostage.
  3. A token or earnest.
  4. A promise or agreement.
  5. To present as security or guarantee, especially for the repayment of a loan; pawn.
  6. To bind by a promise or agreement.
  7. To take a pledge, to take a vow to not do or do a thing.
  8. Pledge applies to anything given as security for the performance of an act or contract or for the payment of a debt.
  9. Earnest, in current usage, applies to anything given or done as an indication, promise, or assurance of more to follow.
  10. Pawn now usually refers to an article left as security for the money loaned on it by a pawnbroker.
  11. Hostage is applied to a person handed over as a pledge for the fulfillment of certain terms or one seized and kept to force others to comply with demands.

And we have this story . . . .Matt. 14:1 At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus, 2 And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him. 3 For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias sake, his brother Philip’s wife. 4 For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her. 5 And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet. 6 But when Herod’s birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod. 7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask. 8 And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist’s head in a charger. 9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath’s sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded it to be given her. 10 And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.

Now, there are wicked oaths, and there are holy oaths. And there are holy pledges, and there are wicked pledges. For the scriptures say, GOD loves a cheerful giver, and a cheerful giver is a giver who gives, expecting nothing in return. Is one really giving anything if they give to receive again? or if they give expecting to receive back again a like gift or greater?

Luke 1:67 And his father (of John the Baptist) Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying, 68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people, 69 And hath raised up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David; 70 As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began: 71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; 72 To perform the mercy promised to our father, and to remember his holy covenant; 73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham, 74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, 75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. 76 And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; 77 To give knowlege of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins.

And we know our LORD JESUS CHRIST gave us this prayer. Our Father, which art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

HALLOWED BE THY NAME. . . .The Kingdom of GOD is holy. . . . . . . . . The Kingdom of GOD does not consist of mammon, nor does it consist of coins, nor pledges, nor articles of clothing, nor anything that is of this world. The Kingdom of GOD is not of this world. The Kingdom of GOD is a righteous Kingdom, a Kingdom of love, peace, power, truth, and holiness. The Kingdom of GOD stands on nothing less than GOD’s righteousness, and stands on nothing more than GOD’s righteousness.

For GOD says in the scriptures. Ezek. 33:13 When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it. 14 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; 15 If the wicked restore the pledge . . . . . . . .

Ezek. 18:7 And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment; 8 He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man. . . . . . . . . .

Ezek. 33:15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, . . . . . . . .

Ex. 22:1 If a man shall steal an ox, or a sheep, and kill it, or sell it; he shall restore five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep. . . . . . . . . . .

Ezek. 33:15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, . . . . . . .

Luke 19:8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold. 9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

Ezek. 33:15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. . . . . . . .

Matt. 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life: 17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? 21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

What sowing of greed into the souls of men, this doctrine of pledging to gain and tithing to gain perpetrates and teaches.

Deut. 24:10 When thou dost lend thy brother any thing, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch his pledge. 11 Thou shalt stand abroad, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring out the pledge abroad unto thee. 12 And if the man be poor, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge: 13 In any case thou shalt deliver him the pledge again when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his own raiment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the LORD thy God.

Ex. 22:26 If thou at all take thy neighbour’s raiment to pledge, thou shalt deliver it unto him by that the sun goeth down: 27 For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin: wherein shall he sleep? and it shall come to pass, when he crieth unto me, that I will hear; for I am gracious.

So we see that the scriptures show us that a pledge is that item or items that are given as a security for a debt. Isn’t it the hardest thing in the world to do, to forgive a debt? to wipe away an unpaid debt? to restore the pledge given for a debt? to forgive it without recompense? And what of those that speak for a silent GOD on the matter, saying that He shall restore your pledge? GOD will give pressed down and running over? It is not to GOD that the gospel of CHRIST commands us to give, but to men. GOD commands us to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, give to the poor, care for the fatherless, care for the widows, care for the sick, visit those in prison, to provide the necessities of the flesh to all people. These are true tithes, and true pledges, and true offerings unto the LORD for so great a forgiveness shown to us in CHRIST JESUS.

For Jesus said . . . . .Luke 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. 36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. 37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: 38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Now what is it that men shall give unto your bosom, your bosom being your spirit, your bosom being your soul? You give mercy, and mercy shall be given you by men, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over. You give forgiveness, and men shall forgive you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. You give compassion, and compassion shall be given to you by men, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over. Whatsoever you mete unto men shall be meted back unto you, by men, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over. All these things shall be shaken together, added one on another, mercy, compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, and even running over again and again shall these things be, as written, Psa. 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

And the first mention of a pledge in the scriptures is where a man was seeking the services of a prostitute and had to give a pledge or token or security item that he would honour his word and pay for the service rendered. The story is written . . . . . .Gen. 38:13 And it was told Tamar, saying, Behold thy father in law goeth up to Timnath to shear his sheep. 14 And she put her widow’s garments off from her, and covered her with a vail, and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place, which is by the way to Timnath; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife. 15 When Judah saw her, he thought her to be an harlot; because she had covered her face. 16 And he turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, O pray thee, let me come in unto thee; (for he knew not that she was his daughter in law.) And she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in unto me? 17 And he said, I will send thee a kid from the flock. And she said, Wilt thou give me a pledge, till thou send it? 18 And he said, What pledge shall I give thee? And she said, Thy signet, and thy bracelets, and thy staff that is in thine hand. And he gave it her, and came in unto her, and she conceived by him. 19 And she arose, and went away, and laid by her vail from her, and put on the garments of her widowhood. 20 And Judah sent the kid by the hand of his friend the Adullamite, to receive his pledge from the woman’s hand: but he found her not.

Deut. 24:6 No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge: for he taketh a man’s life to pledge.

Men offer their properties as pledges for loans, and their houses, and their businesses, and their tools of trade, and their very life’s substances, and in hardness of times, and in times of droughts or famines, farms are lost, and homes are lost, and the livelihoods of multitudes lost, because it is spiritually illegal to give one’s livelihood as a pledge, spiritually foolish. To pledge on those things one has not, is foolishness, and causes those so snared in its practice to build houses on sand, and when the winds of adversity come, and the rains of adversity come, those houses shall be lost, and shall fall, and great shall be the ruin of them. To pledge payments on wages not yet earned is spiritual idolatry and harlotry, for it is from the blessings of God that one tithes, from one’s increase and bounty, else how could a law have been established to give ten percent tithes unless it was already in the hand of blessing to give it? You pledge unto God in a debt and purchase agreement and call it righteousness?

Deut. 24:17 Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow’s raiment to pledge.

These marketers of pledges and tithes to gain, care nothing of the giver, care not if it is a fatherless child giving his lunch money, or a widow, living on little, gambling her little on a return of much. They care nothing!

Job 22:5 Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite? 6 For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.

These marketers of pledges and tithes to gain, have iniquities infinite, hidden, unseen, and they take pledges from their brothers and sisters for nothing, giving nothing in return. They care for nothing!

Job. 24:3 They drive away the ass of the fatherless, they take the widow’s ox for a pledge. 9 They pluck the fatherless from the breast, and take a pledge of the poor. 10 They cause him to go naked without clothing, and they take away the sheaf from the hungry; 11 Which make oil within their walls, and tread their winepresses, and suffer thirst. 13 They are those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof.

These marketers of pledges and tithes and offerings, and gifts, cause the poor to become poorer still, and bring the widows to want, and when the pledges cannot be sustained, it is the fatherless who shall go hungry, and the widow who shall have no heat, and the foolish who shall have no bread to eat. These who tread the winepresses of the kingdom for gluttonous servants of greed, suffering all things for the lovers of greeds, shall come to weeping, and wailing, and a grinding of the teeth in the day of reckoning, when the walls shall begin to crumble, they being of such great weight, who can sustain them? It says of these marketers and servants of greeds through pledges and tithes and offerings. . . . . .These are they who rebel against the light, against the truth, not knowing the way of the light or truth, nor do they abide in the light, nor in the truth.

Job 24:13 They are those that rebel against the light; they know not the ways thereof, nor abide in the paths thereof. And the Apostle Paul spoke of these. . . .2nd Thess. 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie . . . . . . .

Prov. 20:16 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger; and take a pledge of him for a strange women.

The Word teaches to take a pledge from a strange man or a woman, that you know not. For surely if they default in payment, the pledge therefore is yours to keep.

Isa. 36:7 But if thou say to me, We trust in the LORD our God: is it not he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar? 8 Now therefore give pledges, I pray thee, to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give thee two thousand horses, if thou be able on thy part to set riders upon them.

Here we see that the children of Israel were being enticed to follow after other gods, to give pledges to other lords, and to bow down to strange idols.

And JESUS speaks wisely to us on this matter of serving the god of mammon. . . . . .of pledging. . .of giving tribute. . . .Matt. 17:24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? 25 He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? 26 Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. 27 Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

JESUS said, Then are the children free! So why do I speak here of these things in a treatise on forgiveness? Because of condemnation. There is therefore no condemnation to those that are in CHRIST JESUS.

Rom. 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

The marketers of pledges and tithes, offering bribes and gifts, and prosperity's and rewards, are they that mind the things of the flesh, the things of this world. We are free from bondage. We are free. We are the children, and are no strangers. We are free, being the children of the LORD. Yet we are condemned, and we are free. We are threatened, and we are free. We are coerced, and we are free. We are bombarded, and we are free. We are set upon, and we are free. We are required of, and we are free. We are cast upon as guilty of transgressions. Jesus said, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. Therefore, who are these that demand tribute? demand pledges? demand tithes? Are they of the Kingdom of CHRIST or are they of another kingdom, another lord? For the children of the LORD are free, being children. Perhaps the children of the LORD are netted by a stranger, and by strangers of another kingdom and of another lord, and being required to pay tribute, to pay pledges, and to give, and give, and give, and over give, and enter into great debts to give to this god of mammon, for does not this god and this lord offer the world in exchange?

Matt. 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him (Jesus) up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. So who therefore, is the spirit behind the doctrine of pledges, and tithes, and the doctrine of prosperity? Who is the lord behind this plague upon the children of the Lord? Who is the perpetrator of this spirit of condemnation that speaks so masterfully and so convincingly?

2nd Thess. 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Now beloved, these scriptures teach that the gathering up unto Christ, the capturing away unto Christ, shall not occur until after the antichrist, the son of perdition is revealed in the world, and this son of perdition shall not be revealed in the world, until the ending of the thousand year reign of the gospel, until the age of the gospel is finished, or completed, until after or at the closing of this present age in the world, when the harvests are full and ripe. He sits in the temple of GOD and comes forth from the body of believers, and rises up to power in the world, sitting in the world, in the temple, as a messenger of GOD, having great power, and great authority. To have pleasure in unrighteousness is to have pleasure in this life, to desire all those things of this world and this life, lands, houses, marriages, children, family, careers, all those things that are of this world, this life, and this flesh. So we find another fault in this doctrine of prosperity, this doctrine of pledges, this doctrine of tithing to gain, and that is the capturing away of the saints of GOD. The doctrine of CHRIST is the true doctrine that teaches just what is written, taking nothing away from it, nor adding anything to it. And. . . . .the capturing away of the saints of GOD shall not come until first, the antichrist, the Son of perdition be revealed in the world. The prosperity doctrine proclaims that this gathering up shall occur before the antichrist, before the beast appears, and the false prophet appears. This is an antichrist doctrine.

JESUS Himself warned us to not be caught in the cares and anxieties of this life and this world. . . . .else we would be snared in this great delusion, this great lie, this doctrine of prosperity, this pledge and get doctrine, this tithe and gain doctrine, this antichrist doctrine, this doctrine that is building a great kingdom on but a mound of sand.

Forgiveness that is so freely offered in the blood of CHRIST, does not come with a debt owed against that gift of forgiveness, else it would not be forgiveness at all, but a purchase, then if a purchase, the wicked and holy could purchase it, and the unsaved and saved could purchase it, and the damned and redeemed could purchase it, and the cursed and uncursed could purchase it, and the vilest of flesh could purchase it, and there would be no separation of the saved and the lost, the washed and the unwashed, the clean and the unclean. Is that not absurd? CHRIST is not a predator, nor is CHRIST a creditor. GOD the FATHER Himself paid the debt on Calvary in the blood of His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but should receive eternal life. GOD now becomes as unrighteous man and requires a pledge to pay for that holy blood that has already been shed for the sins of the world? Never!

Pledges insult GOD, if they are given to get. Tithes offend GOD, if they are given to gain. Matt. 15:4 For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. 5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; 6 And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your traditions. 7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. These marketers of the gospel draw nigh to GOD with their mouths, and they honour Him with their lips, yet their hearts are far from GOD, for they are anchored in this life, this world, this flesh, and all that is of the underworld, being born yet from beneath.

It cannot be said any plainer than this. . . . .John 2:13 And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: 15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; 16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.

Jesus said . . . . . Make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise. Jesus said . . . . . Matt. 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
